Join us at Five Gables Inn on the first Friday of each month for a great community event, First Friday Gallery Walk. The generous hospitality of galleries, restaurants and specialty shops is displayed as they open their doors to visitors and residents of the area from 5-9pm on the first Friday of every month. Many places serve light refreshments as visitors stroll through downtown Easton looking at art and enjoying the community. Easter has come and gone, the daffodils are in full bloom and the biggest sign that summer is on its way is here – the crab houses in St. Michaels have opened for the season! Anyone who has ever visited Maryland’s eastern shore knows that there is no greater pleasure than sitting on a deck, looking out over the beautiful Chesapeake Bay, cracking open a dozen crabs. Located just down the street from us at 213 North Talbot Street lies one of St. Michaels greatest resources and most interesting attractions, the Chesapeake Bay Maritime Museum. From an active boat yard to public programs and exhibitions, there is something for everyone to see and learn at the Museum. They are busy gearing up for a busy spring, starting with a concert by Judy Cook on Saturday, April 10th called “Songs of Women and the Sea.” In May they have an exciting Maritime Model Expo, which includes radio-controlled models powered by steam, battery and wind. This event, held Saturday, May 22nd, will have plenty of activities for children, too!
