Restaurant Week in St. Michaels

One of our favorite St. Michaels events is once again around the corner. This year’s Restaurant Week is packed with special events that you won’t want to miss, including a fantastic package here at Five Gables. Book our “Dine and Unwind” package now and you’ll get two night’s accommodations for two, a one-hour massage each, and dinner for two at a participating restaurant

2011 marks the second anniversary of Restaurant Week, which this year will begin with Celebrate Talbot, a tasting event to be held at The Oaks Country Inn on Sunday, March 20. More than 20 of the finest area restaurants will offer bite-sized samples of their signature menu items, making it a wonderful opportunity to discover restaurants you may not have tried in the past.

Over the course of Restaurant Week, featured restaurants will offer special pricing on two course lunch menus and three course dinner menus. Each of the lunch menus will be priced at $20.11 and the dinner menus at $30.11.

The week will come to a close on the 27th of March with a special screening of Julie & Julia, the motion picture depicting the life and career of Julia Child and how she inspired a young journalist to embrace the art of cooking. Dinner will follow at the Historic Tidewater Inn’s Gold Ballroom with special guests Julie Powell, author of the book and subject of the film, and Amanda Hesser, who played herself in the film and is currently an author for the New York Times. In addition to being the guests of honor, Julie and Amanda will be on site for a reception and book signing at the Academy Art Museum in Easton. If you’re planning on visiting us for Restaurant Week, be sure to participate in the raffle to win lunch at Mason’s Gourmet Restaurant in Easton with Julie and Amanda.

Don’t miss this wonderful week of fine dining!
